Karachi: Northern openers batted brilliantly and formed a strong partnership to support their side fight back against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) 375 in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QEAT) final.

After KPK finished their first innings at 375, the Northern openers fought back. The second day of the final ended on 3/184.

In the final of the Pink Ball of the Premium Tournament, Northern Openers - Muhammad Harira and Haider Ali - batted brilliantly. Recorded a magnificent century partnership for the first wicket. The duo put on exactly 100 runs before the Hurricanes were dismissed shortly after scoring a crucial half-century. He scored 51 runs which included seven fours and a six.

However, Haider saw more control. The batsman played some beautiful shots in his 81st innings. After 14 boundaries Haider was out, Umar Amin joined Sarmad Bhatti on the crease. But, Amin's stay on the crease was short. He managed to score only four.

Sarmad Bhatti is looking strong with his unbeaten 39 runs, including three fours. He will now resume the innings for 184/3 for Northern on the third day with Faizan Riaz (1 *).

For KPK, Sajid Khan took two wickets and Samin Gul one.

Earlier, KPK resumed overnight at 252/5, losing the opening wicket when Rehan Afridi was dismissed for 31. He scored six fours and a maximum of 68 off 104 balls.

With the important contribution of Poonch, KPK managed to post a reasonable total of 375 in the first innings.

For Northern, Mubasir Khan acted. Waqas Ahmed took four wickets while Waqas Ahmed took three wickets. Muhammad Nawaz managed to take two wickets. While Kashif Ali dismissed the batsman.
